Wednesday 5 August- the cinema

Had a great time at the pictures. The cinema is fab. I will post some pictures asap. The film was all in Hindi so understood about a third of the words. It was basically a chick flick but with proper bollywood dancing... It was also set mainly in London, which was very strange. The audience participation was brill. The cinema is a completely OTT on the outside & inside.

The queueing was an experience. We were queueing in the Ladies queue for about 40 mins before we got in. Tickets are normally sold in advance so we were queueing for what was left. There was lots of people hanging about waiting to get in the cinema. While we were in the queue, people were asking us to get tickets for them- they were quite persistant at times.. Every few minutes, the groups of people milling about would get moved on by the cinema staff- with sticks... One guy was asking Claire to get him a ticket, she said no, he was moved away with a stick.. he cheeked the guard guy and got hit with said stick. Queueing at the UGC at home will never be the same again...... Actually going to the cinema at home will be a lot more dull....

We went for ice-cream afterwards which was great.

I will post pictures as soon as I can.

We are both working in the morning tomorrow but not sure what we will do in the afternoon yet. No sign of bag yet. This is India however, and no one is precise about the time.

We are planning to go to Pushkar at the weekend. It is a Hindu pilgramage town, with temples, and a lake and ghats (which is where the pilgrims bath) with some lovely sounding hotels. Here is some info: http://ajmer.nic.in/pushkar/. I think we will be going by bus, which could be an experience- some of them are not great. We are also planning to go to Bundi as well for the day, but that depends on work & we might have to hire a driver as the transport there is not great.

Friday 7 August: here is a photo of the cinema:

As you can, completely OTT. Something like a big ice-cream...
